February 2012 Made with Xara Sussex Army Cadet Force Association CHARTER TITLE The Association shall be called the Sussex Army Cadet Force Association. AIMS The aims of the Association shall be: To keep Officers and Adult Instructors who are serving or who have retired from the Sussex Army Cadet Force in touch with each other and with the Sussex Army Cadet Force. CADET ASSISTANCE FUND To assist Cadets, where possible, with financial help to take part in any authorised Cadet activity. DISSOLUTION OF ASSOCIATION If at any general meeting or by special meeting, a resolution for the dissolution of the Association is passed by a majority of the members present and at a (further) special meeting held not less than six weeks later and at which not less than one half of the members present, the resolution is confirmed by a majority to two thirds of the members voting on it, the committee must immediately, or at such date is specified in the resolution, proceed to realise the property of the Association and after the discharge of all liabilities, must divide the General Fund equally between the members whose subscriptions are paid up to date and the Cadet Assistance Fund to the Sussex Army Cadet Force Welfare Fund and on completion of this division, the Association will be dissolved. MEMBERSHIP There shall be: FULL MEMBERSHIP All serving Members, retired Officers and Adult Instructors shall be entitled to Full Membership ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP [non voting] ACF Patrons, Civilian Instructors and any person who has rendered particular service to the Sussex Army Cadet Force may apply for Associate Membership. HONORARY MEMBERSHIP [non voting] A surviving relative of a deceased person who would have been eligible for Full Membership, may be elected an Honorary Member of the Sussex Army Cadet Force Association.  Election shall be subject to recommendation by a Full Member and approved by the Committee. SUBSCRIPTIONS Annual subscriptions become due for all Members on 1st July each year.  The rates for Full and Associate Membership will be reviewed by the Committee from time to time. Any such Member whose subscription is still in arrears three months after the due date, having received two reminders from the Treasurer, shall cease to be a Member and their name will be removed from the Register of Members. Honorary Members are exempt subscriptions. The subscription is intended to cover the running costs of the Association.  The cost of social occasions will be met by those attending. OFFICERS OF THE ASSOCIATION The following shall be Officers: President (The Honorary Colonel) Vice Presidents (Past Honorary Colonels) Secretary Treasurer THE COMMITTEE The affairs of the Association shall be conducted by a committee comprising: Chairman The Secretary Vice Chairman The Treasurer Members A minimum of four Members BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP All Members are entitles to: Attend an Annual General Meeting, only Full Members having voting rights. An opportunity to attend social occasions which will also serve as a reunion of Association Members. Receive, from time to time, a magazine giving news on members and of the Sussex Army Cadet Force. AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER Amendments to the Charter shall be proposed by a Member or the Committee, for Members approval at an Annual General Meeting.
