February 2012Made with Xara Sussex Army Cadet Force AssociationCHARTERTITLEThe Association shall be called the Sussex Army Cadet Force Association.AIMSThe aims of the Association shall be:To keep Officers and Adult Instructors who are serving or who have retired from the Sussex Army Cadet Force in touch witheach other and with the Sussex Army Cadet Force.CADET ASSISTANCE FUNDTo assist Cadets, where possible, with financial help to take part in any authorised Cadet activity.DISSOLUTION OF ASSOCIATIONIf at any general meeting or by special meeting, a resolution for the dissolution of the Association is passed by a majority of themembers present and at a (further) special meeting held not less than six weeks later and at which not less than one half of themembers present, the resolution is confirmed by a majority to two thirds of the members voting on it, the committee mustimmediately, or at such date is specified in the resolution, proceed to realise the property of the Association and after thedischarge of all liabilities, must divide the General Fund equally between the members whose subscriptions are paid up to dateand the Cadet Assistance Fund to the Sussex Army Cadet Force Welfare Fund and on completion of this division, the Associationwill be dissolved.MEMBERSHIPThere shall be:FULL MEMBERSHIPAll serving Members, retired Officers and Adult Instructors shall be entitled to Full MembershipASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP [non voting]ACF Patrons, Civilian Instructors and any person who has rendered particular service to the Sussex Army Cadet Force mayapply for Associate Membership.HONORARY MEMBERSHIP [non voting]A surviving relative of a deceased person who would have been eligible for Full Membership, may be elected an Honorary Memberof the Sussex Army Cadet Force Association. Election shall be subject to recommendation by a Full Member and approvedby the Committee.SUBSCRIPTIONSAnnual subscriptions become due for all Members on 1st July each year. The rates for Full and Associate Membership will bereviewed by the Committee from time to time.Any such Member whose subscription is still in arrears three months after the due date, having received two reminders from theTreasurer, shall cease to be a Member and their name will be removed from the Register of Members.Honorary Members are exempt subscriptions.The subscription is intended to cover the running costs of the Association. The cost of social occasions will be met by thoseattending.OFFICERS OF THE ASSOCIATIONThe following shall be Officers:President (The Honorary Colonel)Vice Presidents (Past Honorary Colonels)SecretaryTreasurerTHE COMMITTEEThe affairs of the Association shall be conducted by a committee comprising:ChairmanThe SecretaryVice ChairmanThe TreasurerMembersA minimum of four MembersBENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIPAll Members are entitles to:Attend an Annual General Meeting, only Full Members having voting rights.An opportunity to attend social occasions which will also serve as a reunion of Association Members.Receive, from time to time, a magazine giving news on members and of the Sussex Army Cadet Force.AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTERAmendments to the Charter shall be proposed by a Member or the Committee, for Members approval at an Annual GeneralMeeting.
